Google Plus Vs Facebook: Why Google+ can overtake Facebook

Why people think Google+ is capable to dethrone Facebook in social networking arena? It is an interesting question as the celebrated battle between Google Plus and Facebook is building hype on the Web. Google launched its social networking offering Google Plus two weeks back.
The site has so far received more than 10 million members though it is still in beta or invite-only mode. It is shown as a sign for the possible growth of Google Plus over Facebook.
Many specialists are of the view that Google Plus can beat Facebook thanks to its deep roots in online services. Unlike Facebook, Twitter or any other social media platforms, Google has already taken name as a leading provider of a number of top online services like Gmail, YouTube Picasa and Google Maps and so on.
“So far, it seems like almost all the people who signed up for Google Plus also have a Gmail account. Converged view is that there are about 170 million active Gmail users worldwide,” says Global Equities Research analyst Trip Chowdhry.
Google has millions of other users for its YouTube, Picasa and other online products. The Mountain View-based online behemoth has designed its social networking platform in a way that its users won’t have to go for another site for social network purposes.
Google has thus strategically placed a notification and quick status update bar on all its services. Even if you are on Gmail, you will be notified if a person commented or liked any of your Google Plus status messages. This is why some say Google Plus might outperform Facebook someday.
