Kalpetta : The Communist Party of India (Marxist)-led Opposition Left Democratic Front (LDF) today observed a hartal in Wayanad to protest alleged neglect of the hilly district of Kerala in the recent Budget proposals presented to the State Assembly.Police said offices and business establishments remained closed, public transport were off the road and offices reported thin attendance due to the stir from 0600 hrs to 1400 hrs.
However, public sector Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) ran its fleet to certain destinations escorted by police convoys.
Stating the agitation was total, police said no untoward incident was reported from anywhere in the region.
