Thiruvananthapuram: Two more H1N1 influenza deaths have been reported in Kerala, taking the total number of deaths due to the virus to eight during the past two months. A release issued by the State H1N1 Control Room said here today that two persons in Kannur and one each in Kollam Thrissur and Kannur had tested H1N1 positive and were undergoing treatment.
The deceased were identified as Komalam (63) and Bindhu(40). Both died at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital after testing positive for H1N1 influenza.
The release said a total of 20 patients were under hospital quarantine and 392 people under home quarantine. Throat swabs of 28 persons had been sent for lab tests.
