Latest News from India - Former Santhosh Trophy star John K John dies

Kochi: John K John, member of Kerala football team which bagged the first Santhosh Trophy and the present member of Kerala Football Association, died on Wednesday at his house in Irattaplamuoottil in Kadavanathara. He was 63 and died of heart attack. He represented Kerala four times in Santhosh trophy. It was under the leadership of John that Kerala bagged the junior national trophy in 1967 in Cuttack.John, who hails from Thiruvalla, has worked as sports development officer in Eloor FACT. Till his retirement in 2005, he acted as player, coach and team manager of FACT. He also acted as member of Kerala Football Association selection committee and Ernakulam district football association. His wife is Rosalyna John, children Jiju John and Jikku John .
