Latest News from India - Man who returns home from old age home dies

Anthikkad: Though he had six children, an old age home became shelter for Abdul Khader in his last days. But the goodness of Ramzan month made his daughter to rethink. She brought her father home and after breaking his fast, Abdul khaddar passed away. Abdul Khader, 79, from Anthikkad died at his daughter's house in Thalikkualam on Tuesday.

It was on July 9 that the activists of Rajeev Gandhi rural development society admitted him to an old age home after finding him abandoned on the corridors of government hospital in Anthikkad.

Earlier, police had admitted him to a hospital after finding him lying near a sewage canal in a pitiful condition. He was in the hospital for one and half weeks and no one came to look after him. A masjid mahallu committee offered food. Later the hospital too expressed their helplessness. Then he was staying on the corridors and was later shifted to a old age home. During Ramzan his daughter Shakeena came to take him back home.

He was working as a tailor in Mumbai and later in Saudi Arabia. He divorced his wife. His other children are Hamsa, Ali, Asma, Kamarudhin and Rahmath.
