Senior BJP leader O Rajagopal today flayed Opposition Leader V S Achuthanadhan for his criticism of the Travancore Royal Family head Uthradom Thirunal Marthanda Varma.Mr Rajagopal told reporters here, the Travancore Royal Family was held in high esteem for its contributions to the Sri Padmanabha Temple and hence, Mr Achuthandhan's remarks deserved condemnation.
To a question, Mr Rajagopal said, the BJP could not go back from its demand for CBI inquiry into the 2003 Marad riot case and reports and allegations to the contrary were baseless.
Meanwhile, Mr Rajagopal claimed that political untouchability against the BJP was continuing in the agitation against corruption.
The Opposition political parties were not coming together with the BJP to protest against the corruption of the Congress-led UPA Government.
The BJP's only objective was to struggle for better future of the country to make it free of corruption. Hence, law to make it a reality was needed.
Mr Rajagopal was inaugurating a one-day fast by District Unit of BJP here demanding end to corruption and for saving democracy.
He alleged there was widespread corruption and price rise of essential commodities hit the people. The Union Government was implementing 'anti-people policies.'
