Central varsity: Expert committee okays land in Periya
Kasargod: The expert committee appointed by central university stated that the land proposed by the state government in Periya where endosulfan was sprayed, can be used for constructing the varsity. The decision was taken by an expert committee including central varsity vice chancellor DR Jancy James. The team arrived at the decision as per the report of CWRDM which conducted a study on the presence of endosulfan in Pulloor , Periya. With Union Human welfare department gives approval for the report, the final decision would come.
The committee observed that ill effects of endosulfan has been declining in Periya. In the 310 acre land , buildings can be constructed in land where low spraying was held.
