Kannur : State Transport Minister V S Sivakumar today said the government has no plans to privatise the Kerala State Road Transport Corportation (KSRTC).''The allegations on the contrary are baseless and it will be retained in the public sector'', the Minister said.
Addressing the gathering of KSERTA, a CITU organisation, State Conference here, the Minister said the CITU and all trade unions should protect the KSRTC as a public utility and it should not be attacked during hartals and the strikes.
The KSRTC was already facing Rs 40 crore monthly loss in the last three months.
He said though the UDF Government had already provided Rs 120 crore, it would not help to overcome the crisis.
