    Latest News from India - Kollam-Kottapuram waterway to be commissioned by Dec 2012

    Thiruvananthapuram : The Kollam-Kottappuram Waterway will be commissioned by December 2012.Official sources today said it is expected that the waterway would open for cargo movement by December, 2012.

    The Kerala government was planning to develop more waterways in the state for cheaper cargo movement in the wake of frequent hike of petroleum products prices.

    The Centre has also earmarked Rs 225 crore for the proposed Thiruvananthapuram-Kollam-Kottappuram-Neeleswaram Waterways.
