The Congress on Saturday attacked both Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP calling the arrest of suspended IPS officer Sanjeev Bhatt as “naked dictatorship”.
“The BJP’s naked dictatorship is visible in Gujarat. Why is this officer (Sanjeev Bhatt) being targeted?...Is it not laughable that a sub-inspector all of a sudden alleges something and arrest is made?" said Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi while talking to mediapersons.
He alleged that the arrest of the IPS officer was a proof of Modi's "dictatorship". He accused the Gujarat CM of displaying intolerance and arbitrariness when somebody accuses him of wrongdoing.
On the BJP's political resolution passed at its National Executive, Singhvi said most of the statements reflected the "collective premature dreams of pretenders of power".
