Kannur Mr P C Chacko, who is heading the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probing the 2 G scam, today said the committee would submit its findings before the budget session of Parliament. JPC has decided to call Finance Secretary who had sent the letter to then Finance Minister P Chidambaram, to interrogate him, he said talking to newspersons on the sidelines of a function here. Mr Chacko said only 25 per cent of the investigation was completed so far. The investigation was a large task, the JPC could not submit its report as scheduled as per the direction of the government. As many as 22 witnesses will be called by the JPC within the next 48 days and needs 96 sittings to examine more than 100 witnesses. It has to examine several documents also comprehensively. JPC would also call former Telecom ministers, Telecom Requlatory Authority of India (TRAI) chairman and Telecom secretary for interrogation. The committee has the rights to call even Union Ministers to interrogate, considering the special situation, However, the JPC has not decided whether to call the then Union Finance Minister before the committee. Mr Chacko said the High Command would change half a dozens District Congress Committee Presidents, who had completed their full term. Some of the KPCC members and MPs and MLAs, who were holding double posts and had personal problems, were ready to quit. Mr Chacko inaugurated the DCC organised Prayer meeting as part of Gandhi Jayanti celebrations here. --UNI
