Thiruvananthapuram A National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) office was opened in Kerala. The arrival of Software Industry's apex body is an indication that Kerala has become an important IT destination that the country is looking at, Technopark CEO Mervin Alexander said in a release here on September.
The Nasscom, the premier association of the IT-BPO industries in India, currently have offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Pune.
The Technopark, the Infopark and the upcoming Cyberpark will definitely continue to be a breeding ground for IT/ITeS Companies.
He said the new branch office of NASSCOM will provide the necessary impetus for the growth of IT/ITeS industry in the State.
Mr Mervin said ''Decision of NASSCOM to set up office in Kerala is recognition of Kerala and particularly the IT sector as an emerging destination. With its office here, NASSCOM will be able to cater to the needs of the IT/ITeS companies in Kerala which will be a great boost for the companies operating from Kerala.'' He said the high literacy rate, excellent connectivity, lack of urban rural differentiation was also supporting the State as a favorable IT destination.
