Latest News from India - Soumya death: Report given to minister and health department

Mulankunnathukavu: Thrissur Medical College principal Dr K Praveen Lal on Tuesday submitted a report to the health minister on the controversy relating to the postmortem report of Soumya in which forensic medicine section assistance professor Dr AK Unmesh had said that he had performed the postmortem on Soumya. Dr Sherly Vasu, head of forensic section, had given the report in the court and there is no dispute over that, Lal said. There is nothing contradictary in the observation filed by Sherly Vasu. Dr Unmesh and Dr Rajendraprasad prepared the draft report. But the report submitted in court was with some additions to the original report. That is the usual procedure.

Lal said in the report there might be difference of opinion among the people in forensic department. But this won't affect the case. If the higher authorities demand action would be taken against Dr Unmesh.
