Flight tyre bursts while landing, accident averted
Karippur: A major accident was averted when the tyre of a flight burst while landing at the Karippur airport. One of the front wheels of Nas airway from Riyadh to Kozhikode burst. With the timely intervention of the pilot, a major accident was averted. There were 200 passengers and 10 crew members in the flight. As the Karippur runway is table top, any accident would have became serious. The Nas authorities and engineering section tried to find out the fault. Later the flight was shifted to isolation bay. The service of the flight from Kozhikode to Jeddah - Riyadh were cancelled. The passengers including Hajj pilgrims were shifted to a Saudi Airline and Air India flight.
