    Latest News from India - Kozhikode firing: Home secy collects evidence, report on Wednesday

    Kozhikode: Additional chief secretary K Jayakumar, who is home secretary in-charge, visited the West Hill engineering college on Monday and collected evidence on the police firing incident. K Jayakumar had collected evidence and the report would be submitted to the government on Wednesday.The probe is to find if the situation prompted firing. Earlier, DGP Jacob Punnoose had given a report favoring the police act. Police officials, including ACP Radhakrishna Pillai, revenue officials, public servants, police association members, parents and mediapersons, came to give evidence. Among the 37 policemen who were injured in the attack, only Nadakkavu additional SI MJ Babu came to give his statement.
