Latest News from India - Matrimonial websites are under the scrutiny of NIA

Thiruvananthapuram: National Investigation Agency (NIA) has began a probe on the misuse of information provided in matrimonial websites for terrorism activities. The action is based on statements by recently held Indian Mujahidheen terrorist who said they use information and photos from matrimonial websites for their benefits. They use the information to make fake driving licenses and identity cards. The photos taken out of sites would be used after making slight modifications by coral draw and Photoshop.NIA got information while questioning Anik Sayid, 27. Though he was taken under custody by the Mumbai crime branch, he was later handed over to NIA. He said photos and information from people belonging to Kerala too were taken. So, the NIA have begun efforts to move ahead with the probe along with the help of Kerala police.
