With the demands of farmers to provide adequate chemical fertilisers and rollback the hike in the prices of manure, Bharatiya Janata Party farmers’ cell staged dharna at all the distinct headquarters on Saturday. Memorandums in this regard were also submitted to the district collector. Other demands of the farmers included fixing support price of wheat at `1,800 per quintal.
Addressing the dharna at Sheopur, farmers’ cell State president Bansilal Gurjar alleged that the Central Government is against the farmers. The corrupt Government of UPA has completely failed in providing adequate quantity of chemical fertilisers to them.
In Bhopal, Madhukar Harne, Girdharilal Patidar, Bharat Singh Rajput, Kailash Bajpai and others addressed the dharna and submitted a memorandum to the district collector.
In Indore, a joint dharna was organised by the rural and urban units of the cell. National general secretary of the farmers cell Om Prakash Yadav, State vice-president Someshwar Patel and others participated in the dharna.
Similar dharna and agitation were organised in Bhind, Ratlam, Gwalior, Shahdol, Betul, Harda, Shajapur, Jhabua and Ujjain.
Surprisingly, the farmers’ cell of the BJP launched its agitation against Centre, on the other hand Kisan Sangh has already raised voice against both the Centre and State Governments for not accepting the long-pending demands of the farmers.
