Grandparents are our heritage, essential members of our families and communities. As we seek to strengthen the enduring values of the family, it is appropriate that we honour our grandparents. Grandparents are the link between the present and the near past. It is through them the national heritage and traditions are handed over to the next generation. It is the experiences and beliefs of our grandparents and senior members in society strongly affect our lives.
To celebrate their existence, Billabong High International School organised ‘Grandparents Tea Party’. The grandparents along with tiny tots of pre-primary got an opportunity to spend some time in leisure, having fun, and got the chance to do a project together that threw a spotlight on their life.
Grandparents are the foundation on which the family stands and flourishes. Their strength and well being is vital for the success of the family.
To celebrate their presence and acknowledge their inimitable contribution to our lives, Billabong High International School organised a ‘Grandparents Tea Party’ at School Campus.
The school building was decorated with rangoli, torans and earthen pots in sync with the theme of ‘Traditional Mela’. The students and teachers were dressed in colourful traditional attires from all across India. Grandchildren welcomed their grandparents with a song’ I love you’ and a dance. The teachers matched their steps to a folk dance entertaining the young and old alike.
Grandparents decorated diyas and played games with their little ones.
They carried with them sweet memories and souvenirs given away by the children bringing the programme to a poignant end.
