We swear that we shall not indulge in intoxication and will always make efforts to bring awareness among the masses towards adverse effects of intoxication. We swear that we would keep young generation and senior citizens away from intoxication and fulfil the dream of making a golden tomorrow."
Member of Parliament Raj Babbar administered this oath to the participants of marathon race in Gwalior. The marathon race was organised in Gwalior with an anti-intoxication message. Nearly 20,000 people in all age group participated in the race.
The race started after the chief guest and Union Minister of State Jyotiraditya Scindia flagged it off. The race was jointly organised by Padam Bhusan Dinesh Nandani Dalmia foundation, Central Bureau of Narcotics and Varisth Nagrik Sewa Sansthan.
President of foundation Archna Dalmia and Narcotics Commissioner Jagdeep Pavadia encouraged the runners. The race started from 7.15 am on Saturday morning from Narcotics office Morar. The race covered 7.5 km distance and concluded in race course road based LNUPE.
Three coupons were given to the runners divided in four groups on the way. The runners who reached LNUPE first of all declared winner. The winners of every group completed their race with in half an hour. Even after that the runners continued to run from Gandhi road to race course road. Rock band of NCC College presented patriotic songs to encourage the participants.
The runners between 15 to 40 years of age started running at 7 am. The amount of prize to the winners of marathon was given by Raj Babbar and Archana Dalmia.
The winners were- Pushpendra Tomar (First in group), Shailendra Singh (second group) and in Punit Verma (third group). Among girls- Neha, Vandana, Deepaka (first group), Ramsri Parihar Chaya Thakkar and Preeti Sharma (second group), Sangeeta Yadav Manjoo Yadav and Sangeeta (third group) and Geeta Mishra, Rekha and Jyoti (fourth group).
Rajendra Singh, Virendra Kumar, Sandeep Kumar, Sarman, Vinit Kumar, Abdul Khan, Jogindra Singh Gill, Prithipal Singh, Chandrabhan Singh also remained winner. Function conducted by Bhupendra Jain Abhishek Dutt, while Rakesh Pathak were especially present in this occasion.
