Bharatiya Janata Party in order to increase its vote share in Madhya Pradesh is going to launch a special membership drive among the minority community. BJP State president and MP Prabhat Jha would launch the drive from the State capital on November 1.
State BJP minority cell president Hidayatullah Sheikh would especially be present on the occasion. State BJP has set target of recruiting one lakh minority members to the party fold and the responsibility for the same has been shouldered to Sheikh.
Sheikh while talking to The Pioneer over the issue said, “Our State president and MP Prabhat Jha would launch the membership drive for the minority community from the minority populated colonies of the State capital on November 1, that also happens to be State’s foundation day.”
Sheikh further said that the drive would be simultaneously carried out in all the 55 organisational districts of the party and special teams have been constituted in every district to carry out the drive.
He said, “The drive would be a huge success as the minority communities, especially the Muslims are very enthusiastic to join the BJP.” Muslim community is considered as the traditional vote bank of BJP’s arch political rival in the State. But the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is of the view that the minority’s cell should reach all the sections of the society with party programmes and State Government achievements.
The BJP State Minority cell president said that both Muslims and BJP are not alien to each other, this has been proved by both sides, the Muslims by voting in favour of the party and the BJP through its Government by carrying out various schemes and programmes for them, he added.
He said that the only thing that lacks in between, is the relations of both sides is communication gap and for this they are soon going to launch a Bhaichara Yatra in the State with the motto of establishing direct contact with the community.
Sheikh said, “To start dialogue with Muslims, the Bhaichara Yatra would reach doors of the Muslims in entire State and with this we are sure that whatsoever inhibitions are left between the two would finish and together would we write a new history, a new chapter of harmony and brotherhood,” he added.
