Nine Gr Noida villages work out settlement
Reach an agreement with authority, not to move SC against HC judgement

Farmers of nine villages in Greater Noida have set an example for others by reaching a settlement with Greater Noida Authority, giving a ray of hope to several investors and flat buyers in Greater Noida. Now, the dreams of thousands of home buyers to own a home in Noida extension may come true as several farmers of Bisrakh village along with other eight villages entered into a settlement with the authority on Wednesday. They have agreed not to move Supreme Court against the Allahabad High Court decision.

The meeting was held among farmers of Bisrakh, Ghodi Bacheda, Mathurapur, Ajabpur, Dabra, Saini, Sakipur and Dadha villages with Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister, Jaiveer Singh and the Chief Executive Officer of Greater Noida Authority, Rama Raman. The maximum acquisition of land for Noida Extension project was from the farmers of Bisrakh. Following the settlement, the litigation in the court would become infructuous. The farmers said that the decision will speed up the development of Greater Noida region.

The authority will now give additional compensation of Rs 550 per metre; earlier it was Rs 850 per metre. The revised compensation will be given to farmers within 15 days. The 10 per cent developed land will be given to farmers within a month as per the orders of the Allahabad High Court. All the farmers will be benefitted by the agreement which include the setting up of a Government hospital in Bisrakh, sources said.

After the settlement, the next step for the authority is to take the approval of the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) to implement Master Plan 2021 in order to take up any new development work as per the high court ruling. Whereas, 29 farmers of Bisrakh village have not accepted the proposal of the authority and have decided to knock the doors of the Supreme Court, as they said they will not succumb to the “tactics of builders and investors”.

They wanted their land to be returned instead of being paid higher compensation. The Greater Noida Authority is trying to settle the matter with farmers of other villages too.

A builder of Noida Extension, RK Arora of Supertech, said, "We have Eco village project in Noida Extension and after this decision we will start the work within 10 days." With the settlement in Bisrakh village, 18 builders will be benefited with the decision.
