Ramdev to campaign against Congress in Punjab polls

Putting an end to speculations, yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Monday made it clear that he, along with his supporters, would campaign against Congress candidates for the forthcoming Assembly elections in Punjab.

Ramdev also indicated that he would also visit other poll-bound States, including Uttar Pradesh, to ensure defeat of the Congress candidates.

A third front would be formed before the next Lok Sabha elections in 2014, Ramdev told the reporters after holding a yoga camp at the police ground in Hoshiarpur on Monday.

Replying to a question, Ramdev said that he had already written to the Central Government to take stringent action against the corrupt. “But, I have not received any reply so far,” he added.

On runaway inflation, Ramdev said that the Centre and the State Governments were equally responsible for the price spiral. Both were not serious to bring down prices of essential commodities, he said.
