BJP lashes out at BSP, Cong for Noida land scam
Lashing out at the Mayawati Government for the Noida land scam worth over `1 lakh crore, the Bharatiya Janata Party alleged that it was done with the blessings of Congress-led UPA Government and this was the reason why it did not ask the Enforcement Directorate to investigate into the matter despite the fact that it (ED) had all the necessary information.
The national secretary of the BJP and chairman of the scam expose committee Kirit Somaiya, while addressing a Press conference at the State party headquarters here on Friday released documents relating to the companies of Chief Engineer of Noida Authority Yadav Singh and asked the Chief Minister and her brother Anand to reveal whose front man Yadav Singh was.
He said that if the Chief Minister and her family members have nothing to do with Yadav Singh then why does she not order an inquiry about the properties and investments of Yadav Singh.
Somaiya alleged that Union Minister Jayram Ramesh and AICC generals secretary Rahul Gandhi were only befooling the people by accusing Chief Minister Mayawati but the fact remains that both the Congress and the Bahujan Samaj Party were helping each other to cover up the corruption.
"Why no Minister has been sent to jail in NRHM or MGNREGS inquiries?," he asked, adding that both BSP and the Congress were hand-in-glove.
Kirit Somaiya said that he was still awaiting the legal notice for defamation from Energy Minister Ramveer Upadhyay against whom he lodged a formal complaint with the Lokayukta in which he was accused of a scam worth `3,000 crore in UPPCL in power purchases.
"I am ready to go to jail if proved wrong but why is everyone including the Chief Minister is silent about the allegations regarding the power purcahses?," asked.
Somaiya announced that he would visit Hathras, the home district of the power minister on Saturday to meet the people who want to give information about the disproportionate assets and corrupt activities of Upadhyay.
