NCP ready to contest UP Assembly polls
NCP will contest a select number of seats in the coming Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh and would seek to form an alliance with like-minded parties during the polls to improve winnability, party national general secretary Tariq Anwar said on Sunday.
The list of candidates would be finalised soon in consultation with the party president Sharad Pawar and other officer bearers, he told a meeting of Bihar NCP executive meeting.
Anwar hit out at the NDA Government in Bihar for allegedly failing to keep its promises made to the people, including resumption of work in sick sugar mills, industrialisation and bringing in private investment to the state.
The Nitish Government had failed to deliver goods even after completing six years in office. “The people of Bihar have been fooled by NDA in the name of development” and the Government's 'tall claims' of development was limited to only advertisements.
On the AMU study centre at Kishanganj, Anwar said the State lacked the will to set it up.
