Bandh partial in Gujarat
The Bharat Bandh call received mixed response in Gujarat on Thursday. Major markets in Ahmedabad remained closed as small traders’ associations supported the shutdown.
However, educational institutions, offices, banks, petrol pumps and neighbourhood shopping areas functioned normally.
BJP workers went around market places in Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot to ensure compliance. But there were no untoward incidents though some small traders initially resisted the call.
