Aarakshan Bachao Samiti seeks action against anti-quota unions
Aarakshan Bachao Sangharsh Samiti (ABSS), an association of State employees’ unions favouring quota in promotions, on Sunday accused anti-quota unions of violating service rules and demanded stern action against leaders carrying out ‘No promotion, No vote’ campaign.
In a meeting held on Sunday, the ABSS leaders said the Sarvajan Hitay Sanrakshan Samiti leaders opposing the State Government’s policy of quota in promotion had appealed to people to boycott Bahujan Samaj Party in the Assembly elections and were contacting leaders of various political parties which was against service rules and amounted to contempt of court as the matter was pending in the apex court. The ABSS leaders said that as the policy of consequential seniority leading to quota in promotion was introduced through 85th amendment of Constitution, the action of SHSS leaders violated sections 5 and 7 of UP Government Employees Conduct Rules, 1956.
