Patriots should boycott Chinese goods: Ramdev
Yoga guru Baba Ramdev called on the Centre to stop iron ore exports to China, saying it was an ‘enemy’ country and also asked patriotic Indians to stop buying Chinese goods.
Speaking to reporters during a two-day visit to the State to launch Goa Bachao Sammelan, he blamed the Chinese for being an enemy nation.
“If India has to protect itself, then we will have to stop export of iron ore to China. China does not export a single grain of ore. If we do not have the technology to process low grade ore (from Goa), then we should invest in technology. Instead of export we should have a steel plant in Goa itself,” Ramdev said.
His sammelan is aimed at combating four major mafias operating in the State, namely illegal mining, drugs, casinos and real estate.
Meanwhile, Ramdev lamented that Goa had emerged as a place with a reputation where non-Goans think you can pick up any woman on the street and rape her. He said the drug mafia and proliferation of casino industry was partly responsible for it.
Former Tourism Minister and NCP legislator Francisco alias Mickky Pacheco had called Goa the rape capital of India after a series of high-profile crimes against women tarnished the image of the State.
Goa, one of the most popular beach tourism destinations in India, attracts 2.6 million tourists annually.
