Meet held to provide shelter to homeless
To provide better shelters and services to homeless people the Joint Apex Advisory Committee has recently convened a meeting under the chairmanship of Chief Executive Officer of Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB). The meeting was attended by 67 representatives of NGOs. A senior official of the Board said at present DUSIB has been running 64 permanent night shelters across the city with necessary infrastructure including electricity, water, toilets, adequate no. of blankets and darries. "Further, 58 temporary shelters have been set up out of 84 temporary shelters at strategic locations across the city. All these additional shelters are functional. In addition to the above measures, DUSIB is also operating Emergency Rescue Service having help line (9868399222). A control room
