Measures to man traffic chaos at Atta market
Anticipating a huge crowd in Noida due to presence of large number of malls, pubs and restaurants in the city, the traffic police have taken steps to regulate traffic in the city especially in Sector 18 as Atta market has emerged as a centre of attraction for locals and Delhities. “The area witnesses more footfalls on Sundays and holidays as compare to other weekdays. With New Year falling on Sunday, we want to avoid any traffic chaos,” a senior traffic police official said.
Due to insufficient parking space, vehicles spill over to the main road causing trouble for other commuters. Large number of vehicles parked in the area compound traffic chaos in the sector. The cars could be seen lined-up on Ashok Marg and Captain Vijyant Thapar Marg on the either sides of the market and we assume that the situation will get worse on New Year, a traffic police said.
On Saturday which will see celebrations for the New Year eve, vehicle’s entry will be prohibited in the neighbouring areas of the Sector-18 from 12 pm.
