    Gurgaon to deploy 400 extra cops to check crimes
    With millennium city Gurgaon becoming one of most sought-after destinations for New Year celebrations for youngsters especially from south Delhi and Gurgaon area, the city administration will deploy 400 extra police personnel at different intersections and crowded places to keep the city crime free and to curb any unfortunate incident in the city.

    “All the police personnel will be deployed at the Mehrauli-Gurgaon road (MG), Gurgaon-Faridabad road, Palam Vihar-Delhi Road and adjoining bordering areas of Gurgaon in pickets. Gurgaon police are well prepared to maintain law and order,” said Abhay Rao (DCP) Headquarter.

    The Gurgaon Traffic police will also launch a “drunk and drive” campaign from Friday at major points of the city such as MG road, Iffco Chowk and Ambience mall and DLF city. “We have constituted 50 teams of 350 personnel of city traffic police, including 26 female traffic constables with Alcometers and Speedo meters. The major points under scanner of traffic police will be Galleria Market, Sector-55 Bristol Chowk, Genpact Chowk, Ambience Mall including other crowded place of the city,” said Bharti Arora (DCP) Gurgaon traffic.

    The pubs and bars of Gurgaon are amongst the major attractions for both the new and old generations, corporate, call centers, IT folks at the end of the year. Reportedly, 25 malls in the city are currently operational and most of the malls are located on the Mehrauli-Gurgaon road (MG Road); each of them has at least two to three pubs.

    Meanwhile, the pubs and bars associations of Gurgaon on Thursday have sent a application seeking increase of timings by two hours, but the district administration has not increased the timings as yet. “In view of the heavy rush, we have sought the help of administration,” said Vinod Numberdar, owner of Blue Eyes pub, located at Sahara mall.
