Carcasses of four elephants found in Erode forests
Carcasses of four elephants have been found in three forest ranges in the district in a span of two days, officials said. A male elephant was found dead in the Anthiyur forest area. Forest Officials said the animal died to due to formation of worms in the liver, adding, the carcass was buried. In the Chennampatty forest range, two elephants were found dead.
A five-year-old female elephant was found dead in Kothamangalam forests on Thursday. It is suspected that the pachyderm could have been killed by tiger or panther.
