    Bajrangi seeks nod to go to hometown to file poll papers
    Gangster Munna Bajrangi accused of killing a BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai in 2005 and also booked under stringent MCOCA for allegedly running an organised criminal gang, on Friday sought permission from a city court to allow him to go to Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh to file his nomination papers for UP Assembly elections. Bajrangi, facing trial in a string of cases sought permission to file nomination papers as an independent candidate from Madhiyahu constituency.

    Prem Prakash alias Bajrangi, who was arrested in 2009 and is facing charges under MCOCA along with MLA Mukhtar Ansari and others, moved an application before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vinod Yadav for permission to visit his hometown Jaunpur to contest election saying he ‘wants to serve the nation’. The application moved by Bajrangi said, “The applicant (Bajrangi) hereby seeks permission to go to Jaunpur, UP, in police custody on January 21 to file the nomination papers of MLA for the election scheduled to be held in UP on February 15, 2012.”

    Bajrangi said he wanted to contest the election from the 370, Madhiyahu constituency, Uttar Pradesh as an independent candidate.
