Sanjay gets the breather as the Supreme Court has granted him interim bail in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case. He shall remain a free bird till the time TADA court furnishes him a copy of the judgement.
But even as the news of Sanjay's release sent Bollywood into a festive mood there are obvious protesting quarters which blame the government for going soft on Sanjay on account of his political connections. However, the fact remains that Sanjay has been plain lucky owing to the lapses made by the TADA court.
Experts believe that the latest Supreme Court judgement has come as a huge embarrassment not only for the court that earlier convicted him but also for the CBI who's credibility is now at stake. Some obvious questions being raised at this point of time are, why was P D Kode's judgement not made available to Sanjay Dutt? or for that matter, why did the CBI not demand more time from the SC to obtain the judgement?
Fingers are also being raised as to why the CBI not approach the TADA court to expedite the release of its judgement to the convicts.Legal tangles aside Dutt's release has been welcomed by his family and well wishers alike. Infact, Sanjay's sister Priya touching the emotional chord said that it was a Rakhi' gift for her.
