‘Vindicated’ Team Anna hails order
Welcoming the Supreme Court order that granting sanction of prosecution of a public servant should be done within a timeframe, Team Anna said it has vindicated one of its key demands.
“Supreme Court has vindicated one of our key demands of Jan Lokpal movement. (That is) time-bound disposal of corruption cases,” activist and anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare’s close associate Arvind Kejriwal said.
In Jaipur, former IPS officer and another Team Anna member Kiran Bedi said the Supreme Court has said what they have been fighting for. “What people have been asking is that everything should be time-bound,” she said.
Talking about the provisions of their Jan Lokpal Bill, Bedi said that in their Bill, no sanction is required and if there is any evidence, the CBI starts its investigation and nobody interferes in the investigation.
“Secondly, in Jan Lokpal Bill, it was time-bound trial and through number of special courts as required so that within the maximum period of less than two years, a case is decided,” she said.
