Vasudev villagers happy to find CM among them

Vasudev villagers happy to find CM among them
During his padyatra from village to village to gather first-hand informations regarding the problems of people and effective implementation of the State Government’s schemes, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan went through various experiences and emotions.

His padyatra to Vasudev village in Nasrullahganj tahsil of Sehore district was a unique one as the panchayat in the village has no demand or expectation from the State Government.

The villagers were happy to find Chief Minister Shivraj Singh among them, as he reached there during his ongoing Vikas Yatra that began on Wednesday.

Vikas Yatra has been started with a view to taking stock of ground realities and knowing people’s problems in the entire State. With these objectives in mind, Chief Minister Chouhan had embarked on Padyatra in Nasurullahganj tahsil of Sehore district to enquire about people’s problems. In between the eight kilometre journey from village Magriya to Semalpani, large number of people had erected stages at several places besides the main villages to accord a cordial welcome to the Chief Minister.

Since the Chief Minister was interacting with people in connection with their problems, they also did not hesitate a bit in opening their hearts. Except for one place, people also handed over demand letters to him.

But the most astounding incident happened at the sixth stoppage of Chief Minister’s Padyatra. The Chief Minister was accorded an enthusiastic and pleasant welcome as soon as he reached there. People were rejoicing his arrival by dancing to the tunes of percussion instruments. Tiredness was not visible on any face.

As soon as the Chief Minister climbed up the podium, the Gram Pradhan wielded the mike and said, “Bhaiyya! hamare gaon aur panchayat mein sab sukhi hain aur hamari aap se koi maang naheen hai. Aapne to khud hi pehle kai kaam yahan karwaye huey hain.” (Brothter! Everyone in our village and Panchayat is happy and we do not demand anything from you. You have done a lot of work here earlier).

Now was the turn of the Chief Minister to speak. Satisfaction was writ large on his face since entire residents of a Panchayat had publicly announced that they were happy and satisfied. Despite this, the Chief Minister enquired about condition of the ghat on the bank of a river passing by the village. The Pradhan replied that there was no haste in this work and it would be accomplished gradually. The Chief Minister said that this will not do. This ghat will be renovated soon at any cost. This sent the audience in a rapturous dance.

The public announcement by an entire Panchayat about being happy and satisfied is not only astounding, but also unprecedented in an era in which hue and cry over artificial shortcomings and lacunae is the order of the day. This precedent is a manifestation of self-satisfaction and self’s participation in the development process.
