Officials stay tight-lipped on ‘high security’ number plates
The Regional Transport Officer (RTO) and Utsav Safety System Pvt Ltd Company are maintaining secrecy on ‘high security number plates’. Officials of the company and the RTO declined to speak out anything regarding as how the ‘high security number plates’ would be installed factually in the vehicles.
Ironically, the RTO office of Bhopal is yet to be equipped for installing the number plates in vehicles. The vehicle owners in the State capital are intrigued over this new process being implemented with the help of a private company. They are still unaware as what cost they would have to bear for installing this new number plate.
When approached, the RTO declined to speak out anything regarding the process that would be adopted for installing the high security number plates. The process of changing the existing number plates by the ‘high security number plates’ will take place in all the RTO offices in Madhya Pradesh possibly from next month, starting from the State capital.
The implementation process will start in the month of March. The company officials were not ready to share any information regarding the process and the charges. Delhi based private firm — Utsav System Private Limited — has been given contract for installing these new number plates in the vehicles.
Last year, similar process has already been started in Himachal Pradesh. The officials of the company are checking the premises of all the RTO offices, as how the process could take place there.
The vehicle owners in the city are also in confusion about the process as they think that this conversion is useless as the vehicle owner has already paid an amount to fix the number plate. The security plate is a mode of generating revenue only as earlier also compulsion to check Pollution Under Control (PUC) was implemented and now no one is following the instructions to check PUC.
