Cong to protest Kalpana’s arrest
Taking the arrest of party’s senior legislator Kalpana Parulekar seriously, Madhya Pradesh Congress has threatened to agitate.
AICC general secretary and in-charge of Madhya Pradesh BK Hariprasad has termed the arrest of Mahidpur legislator as fateful and strongly condemned this act of the State Government. He alleged that the Government took this action out of vengeance.
State Congress president Kantilal Bhuria, strongly condemning the arrest of Parulekar said the subject in whose context the arrest was made, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra is also associated with the subject because he had also produced a similar photograph in the House.
In such a situation, the police should also register a criminal case against Mishra and he should also be arrested. He stated that that speedy completion of investigation in the case related to Congress MLA also raises several questions on the working of the State police. On the other hand, no action is being taken on the cases pending with the Lokayukta for over a decade, he alleged.
Bhuria suspected that a major conspiracy was behind the arrest of Parulekar and threatened that his party would strongly oppose the arrest throughout the State.
Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly Ajay Singh has alleged that the State Government has lost its wits as the Congress has launched a drive against it exposing the rampant corruption prevailing in the State.
Threatening the Government, Singh stated that the State Government would have to face serious consequences of this act. She is being falsely implicated in the forged case, he suspected.
He also took the opportunity to criticise the Government for not taking stern action against the ministers facing Lokayukta investigation and not taking any action against Sanjay Singh, relative of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for his involvement in corruption cases.
