Two police personnel injured in crossfire
A sub inspector and a constable were injured during crossfire between the Goonda Squad of Police and miscreants on Friday. The sub inspector was referred to JA Hospital, Gwalior. However, a miscreant was nabbed.
According to Additional SP S Satish Vino, AD In-Charge Sub Inspector Srinath Jharbade on getting tip off about notorious Joga Pandit and his two associates from Ambha, took the position with the Goonda Squad jawans and chased the miscreants from Ganj Rampur. However, miscreants left their motorcycle and fled through the fields. On chasing them further, miscreants fired from 315 bore rifle injuring Jharbade and Constable Kuldeep Singh.
The firing continued for half an hour from both the sides and Joga Pandit and his associate Girraj Sharma managed to escape. On returning, the police team was able to nab another associate Amit Sharma. They also recovered a 32 bore MM pistol and two live cartridges.
The civil line police station registered a case against Joga Pandit, Girraj Sharma and Amit Sharma for attempt to murder under the Arms Act. Nearly a dozen cases are registered against Joga Pandit in Ambha police station.
According to the Ambha police station in charge, Pandit was released 15 days before from the jail.
