BMC demolishes illegal mobile network tower
The anti-encroachment squad of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) along with its building permission department removed illegally erected mobile network tower of Vyom network mobile company, a Tata telecom franchise. Besides, the squad also demolished the first floor of Gurukripa hotel near Bhopal station on Friday.
In a bid to curb the illegal mushrooming of structures in the city, the BMC has taken a tough stance and demolished the illegal structure of the hotel Gurukripa situated at Irani camp near the Bhopal railway station.
Earlier on February 1, building owner Japani was issued a notice under section 307(2) of the MP Municipal Council Act of 1956 and warned the owner to remove the illegal structure within 24 hours. The reluctant owner paid no heed forcing the BMC to demolish the structure and the action was taken in the presence of huge police force.
In another instance, a mobile network tower of Tata telecom owned by Vyom network mobile company was removed. The tower mounted on house No E-2/194, Arera Colony Bhopal was illegal and the owner PS Jain received notice to remove the illegal tower voluntarily.
Neither the company, nor the owner of the building had obtained the permission from the BMC. After serving the notice to remove the illegal tower within 24 hours, the team of BMC acted on Friday and removed the tower.
In both the cases, the owners were personally contacted by the BMC officials.
The removal of the tower took place in the presence of City planner SK Mudgil. Assistant Engineer PC Pawar and in-charge of anti-encroachment squad Kamar Saqeeb weer also the part of the team.
