Ram temple dominates Advani’s UP campaign
The Ram temple issue dominated the speech of senior BJP leader and former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani as he started his UP campaign from this temple city on Saturday.
“My political life would not be resolved until a grand Ram temple is constructed at the site where Ram Lalla is existing and Ayodhya is developed as a grand city which could be treated as the pride of our country,” the senior BJP leader said addressing a mammoth election rally at Government Inter College grounds here, Advani lashed out at the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government ruling the Centre for not paving the way for construction of a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya in the same as former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru had resolved the Somnath temple dispute by passing a resolution in Parliament.
In his half-an-hour speech, Advani focused on the Ram temple issue saying that the motive of his first rath yatra was to resolve the Ayodhya dispute just as the Somnath issue was resolved.
