Latest National News : BJP expels 4 sitting, 2 former corporators
Cracking the whip on the rebels within its city party ranks, the BJP on Tuesday expelled its four sitting and two former corporators for six years from the party for campaigning for a rebel candidate.
Taking serious cognisance of the manner in which they had campaigned for a rebel candidate Jyoti Alwani, city BJP president expelled Vishwanath Mhaske, Arvind Bane, Jayashree Karat, Janat Sanghavi, all sitting corportors, Parag Alwani and Arvind Parmar, both former corporators.
While Parag Alwani had put up his wife Jyoti as a rebel candidate, the others had campaigned for her.
Also expelled were nine other party activists.
Informed party sources said that the wife of a senior State BJP party leader had also participated Jyoti's campaign. It remains to be seen if action will be initiated against her as well.
