Cleared in Sukna scam, Lt Gen is Army Dy Chief
Lt General Ramesh Halgali is the new Deputy Chief of Army after the Defence Ministry and the Army agreed to expunge ‘censure’ awarded to him in the Sukna land controversy in 2010.
Stating this here on Monday, officials said Halgali, at present, serving as Director General Military Training (DGMT) had brought irregularities in the Sukna issue to the higher authorities. His name for the new appointment was cleared by the Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) chaired by the Prime Minister.
