    Manipal-headquartered public sector lender Syndicate Bank along with OBC and Union Bank on Monday announced its performance on financial inclusion at Mewat District in Haryana.

    While addressing the media Syndicate Bank Chairman and Managing Director Basant Seth said that "Syndicate Bank is actively implementing the policies of the Government of India on Financial inclusion along with other banks and has taken various initiatives to promote Financial Inclusion in the district".

    "Our Bank has provided banking access to 1, 06,100 households and we also introduced a new product for Financial inclusion customers with inbuilt overdraft limit of Rs 10,000 for emergent credit needs" he added.

    Seth said that "Banks have taken all the required steps to extend Banking outlets in all villages having more than 2000 of population in Mewat district by opening 14 branches and by appointing 81 business correspondents thereby covering all the 95 villages before the stipulated date of March 2012".

    He added that "The administration of Mewat has also played a key role in the the success of Financial Inclusion, The Deputy Commissioner supported the efforts of the Syndicate Bank by extending a helping hand. Infact a new chapter has been written in the economic development of Mewat and this whole effort has been possible due to constant guidance, advice and encouragement given by the Finance Ministry".
