XLRI to host seminar on financial innovation

XLRI School of Business and Human Resources, the premier B-School, will organise a global seminar on financial inclusion christened ‘International Workshop on Inclusive Financial Innovation’ from March 1 to March 3 at its campus.

The workshop will focus on ‘Making Finance and Insurance Work for Poor’ and discuss and sketch a possible roadmap for building an inclusive financial sector serving the asset-poor households and marginalised communities, including micro entrepreneurs, who belong to the lower rung of the economic and social strata.

Announcing the workshop and citing its importance in the present scenario, HK Pradhan, professor, XLRI Jamshedpur, said, “Financial inclusion is a major step and priority for India today to ensure its biggest challenge, inclusive growth, as in order to reduce poverty level, large numbers are required to be provided with much needed financial assistance.”

“Therefore, in today’s context, to prepare a suitable framework for financial inclusion is of paramount importance, and we at XLRI are always at the forefront in helping shape solutions in the long-term interest of our nation’s economy, particularly the poor,” he added.

The workshop will serve as a forum for intensive discussion among researchers, policy makers, as well as field level practitioners involved in financial inclusion.
