SP demands probe into funding of NGOs
The Samajwadi Party on Wednesday demanded a probe into the source of funding of the NGOs, which are frequently attacking MPs and the Parliamentary system. In a veiled reference to Baba Ramdev and Team Anna, SP MP Shailendra Kumar demanded in the Lok Sabha that stern action should be taken against those who were abusing Parliamentarians. Backed by Jagadambika Pal (Congress) and others, Shailendra sought to know the status of the privilege motion he had moved against some individuals for targeting the MP and Parliament. P C Chacko, who was in the Chair, said Kumar’s notice had been received by the Speaker and asked the agitated members to await her decision.
