Delhi girl gangraped at Gzb mall basement
A girl from Delhi was allegedly gangraped by three persons in the basement of a shopping mall in Vaishali area of Ghaziabad on Thursday.
The girl, who came to the Mahagun mall of the area, was allegedly raped in an SUV parked inside the basement, Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Kumar said suspecting one of the accused to be acquainted with the girl. Lying unconscious for some time in the mall, the victim later approached the police. Medical examination of the girl confirmed rape on her and a case of rape was registered. One of the two accused have been arrested, the SSP said. “It appears that the girl was acquainted with one of the accused, who brought her to the mall from Delhi. The girl became unconscious after the incident and later reported the matter to the police in Indirapuram,” he said.
The girl in her complaint said that she met the accused persons — Nabboo Bhati and Sandeep — at EDM mall along with a female friend. After having food together at a food joint, the other girl left for her home, leaving the victim with the accused men. From there, Bhati and Sandeep convinced her to spend some time at some other place. According to her complaint, the duo drove her to the basement of the Mahagun mall where they raped her in turn. The incident occurred on Thursday evening, but came to light on Friday after the police registered a case on Friday.
The police said a Delhi-based girl was called by a female friend of her for having some refreshment at the EDM Mall situated on Delhi Ghaziabad border. “After having food, the victim stayed back with the accused, while the other girl left for her place. The two men took her to the basement of the Metro Mahagun Mall where she was gangraped. After committing rape, the duo left the girl outside the mall and fled the spot. Having remained unconscious for some time, the girl approached the police and lodged a complaint with the,” said a police officer. On her complaint, the police registered the criminal case under section 376 of IPC and sent the girl for medical examination which confirmed rape on her.
“We have registered the case against Nabboo Bhati and Sandeep. Naboo is a resident of district Gautam Budh Nagar in Noida while Sandeep is a Delhi resident. Nabboo has been arrested and is being interrogated. Sandeep is still absconding. Attempts are being made to nab him” said SSP Prashant Kumar.
