    Four Maoists surrender in Jharkhand

    Four Maoist cadres, including two women, of the Kalinganagar Division Committee on Friday surrendered before the Keonjhar police along with along with one automatic riffle and 18 rounds of live ammunition.

    The surrendered Maoists are Sombari Munda alias Titi alias Mukti (18), Rambati Hembram (20), Aiban Tiu (20) and Dharani Singh (22). Titi was ACM of Kalinga Nagar division and second-in-command of the division.

    As per their statements given before DIG, Western Range Jaswant Singh Jethwa, delusion with the Maoist ideology, harassment by the top cadres, attractive surrender policy of the Government and appeal by the Chief Minister to the ‘Maoist brothers and sisters’ to return to the mainstream motivated them to surrender before the police.

    The surrendered Maoists were given Rs50,000 each in cash. Besides, they will be provided homestead land at the place of their choice, Rs2.5 lakh each and monthly allowance including free education for their children.

    They narrated before the media about the hard life in Maoist camps, and physical and mental torture meted out by Maoist leaders.

    They also expressed their discontentment over killing of innocent people.
