Amarinder rules out change in lists; warns rebels
In a strongly-worded statement, the PPCC president Amarinder Singh on Friday ruled out any changes in the list of candidates finalised for election to four Municipal Corporations — Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, and Patiala.
He made it clear that no changes will be made in the list and the same stand final. His statement came in response to the reports of possible change of candidates. Responding, he clarified that the decision of the screening committees for all the four corporations is final and irrevocable as the lists have been finalised after thorough consultations with all the concerned.
At one fell swoop, Amarinder warned the dissidents against indiscipline; maintaining that action will be taken against all those indulging in anti-party activities “no matter how senior they may be”.
“Anybody indulging in any sort of indiscipline will instantly be expelled from the party for six years.”
