The Maharashtra State Women Commission has ordered an inquiry into the alleged violation of law by Additional Commissioner Vishwas Nagre Patil, who supervised the raid on a rave party being held in a Juhu hotel in north-west Mumbai on May 20, 2012.
“Apart from looking into the alleged violations of law by the Additional Commissioner of Police (while conducting the raid on the Juhu hotel rave party), the complainant has also prayed for monetary compensation to all the persons who were illegally detained and were forced to give their urine and blood samples,” retired IPS officer-turned-lawyer YP Singh said here on Monday.
Singh, who is representing Daundkar in the case, said: “There is no provision under the law to detain people in a manner the police did. We have requested the Commission to into the misconduct of the public servants specific to this case and recommend due action”. The police had raided hotel Oakwood and rounded up 92 people, including foreigners, following inputs about presence of drugs at the party.
