Seven-day painting event begins at Swaraj Bhawan

In the series of painting exhibitions and presentations, a seven-day painting event is being organised from Monday at Swaraj Bhavan, Ravindra Bhavan premises. The artists from across the country have participated in the event. Around 15 painters would choose titles on freedom struggle and would paint on spot.

While talking to ‘The Pioneer’ coordinator of the event Yusuf said, “As the time is moving on, people are forgetting about the freedom struggle of our country. This event is like a tribute to the martyrs of freedom struggle, who gave many sacrifices to free the country from Britishers.” He further said that the Swaraj Bhavan is a hub to revive the events of freedom struggle and the painting event would help people recall those events.

Elaborating further he said that the event would have a ‘dialogue session’ where the artists would discuss about their paintings and also about the freedom struggle. There are artists from different parts of the country like Delhi, Pune and Karnataka, he added.

The artists began painting the portrait of many freedom struggles like Sardar Patel, Rani Laxmi Bai, Bhagat Singh. They would also present some events of freedom struggle through their creations. Yusuf further said that with the help of the creations of the artists, people could live the era of freedom struggle and could pay a tribute to the martyrs of the struggle. The event would create an environment of the mixed feelings of freedom struggle. The happiness of living in a free country and the grief of loosing people, Yusuf added. The event would conclude with the painting exhibition on July 15.
